SketchUp’s Tape Measure tool, Protractor tool, and the Measurements box help add accurate measurements to your designs. These tools offer several ways to add precision to a model:

  • With the Tape Measure tool (), you can measure a distance and set precise guide lines or guide points.
  • The Protractor tool () measures angles and helps set a precise, angled guide line.
  • Both tools offer the Create Guide functionality, creating guide lines and guide points. Guide lines and points are temporary dashed lines used to help you draw with precision, but don’t create or interfere with geometry.
  • The Measurements box is available while using almost all other tools. With the measurements box you can enter precise measurements as you draw.
