Purchased extensions come with a license. That license is what allows you to use that extension in SketchUp. If SketchUp identifies an issue with a license, it won’t load that extension and you’ll see an error. To help you resolve licensing errors, here’s a list outlining the different errors you can get and what you can do to resolve them:

  • Expired Trial – This error appears when the trial period for a paid extension has ended. You will need to purchase a license for that extension to keep using it.
  • Expired License – Some paid extensions provide a license on a subscription basis. If your subscription has ended, this error will appear. Visit that extension’s details page in Extension Warehouse to renew your subscription and continue using it.
  • Not Licensed – If SketchUp can’t find the license for an extension this error will appear. If you have an active license for the subscription, uninstall and reinstall the extension to continue using it.
  • License Limit Exceeded – Paid extensions can only be installed on up to two instances of SketchUp. This error appears if SketchUp detects that the extension has been installed on more than two instances. You will need to uninstall the extension from your other devices to continue to use it.
