• A single-user license or sign-in subscription is associated with one person. That individual can install the license on up to 2 computers they are using. Only one computer device can run that specific version using that license at a time. Follow these steps to use your license on another device or transfer a classic license to a new computer:

  • PC In order to successfully install and authorize SketchUp Pro, you must first log in to Windows as a user who has either Administrator or Power User rights. Once successfully installed and authorized, SketchUp Pro requires a Windows profile with at least Power User permissions. You may need to contact your Help Desk or IT department to assist you with these changes.

  • To move a license file to a new server or shared folder:

  • This can happen if SketchUp is installed as opposed to SketchUp Pro. To correct this issue, we suggest downloading and installing the SketchUp Pro trial. For more assistance, click here.   • Classic Licenses can authorize specific versions of SketchUp. To authorize the version of SketchUp associated with your Classic License:

  • To find your SketchUp Pro license information, please do the following: Launch SketchUp Pro. Browse to the SketchUp menu at the top of your screen. Select License from the drop-down menu. You'll see the dialog box below. Record the serial number EXACTLY. You might want to copy and paste the information because typographical errors will prevent you from upgrading successfully.

  • To find your SketchUp Pro license information, please do the following: Launch SketchUp Pro. Browse to the Help menu at the top of your screen. Select License > License Info from the drop-down menu. You'll see the dialog box below. Record the User, Company, and Serial number EXACTLY as typographical errors will prevent you from upgrading successfully.

  • A keyserver is a type of software that allows system administrators to control and monitor the usage of licenses on their network. In this setup the keyserver manages the list of available licenses for a particular program and grants access based on preset preferences. SketchUp does offer Windows Lab licenses configured for use with keyserver software. This license type will allow you to install or image SketchUp onto multiple machines; the keyserving software will then monitor license usage. Your license will need to be set up as a single-user license specifically for this use.

  • Solution 1 - Alternate authorization method Typically, this error can be resolved by entering the license an alternate way.
