End of Support - SketchUp Viewers for Hololens and Virtual Reality

What is changing?

SketchUp will no longer offer or support SketchUp Viewer for Hololens or SketchUp Viewer for Virtual Reality (VR) as part of any SketchUp subscription plan.

Why will SketchUp no longer support or offer SketchUp Viewer for Hololens or SketchUp Viewer for VR?

SketchUp is dedicated to providing a quality experience for both modeling and viewing models. Ending support for these platforms allows the SketchUp team to focus on more current and effective VR and MR solutions.  

When will support for SketchUp Viewer for Hololens and SketchUp Viewer for VR end? 

On July 8, 2024 these applications will no longer be available for purchase on the SketchUp website or for download in the My Apps section of the Trimble Account Management Portal. Current SketchUp subscribers who have downloaded those applications before that date may continue to use them. 

After July 8, 2025, these applications will no longer be supported and will not receive any updates.

What alternatives are available? 

An alternative to the SketchUp Viewer for Virtual Reality is the SketchUp Viewer for Meta Quest . Another option, available through Trimble Connect, is the Trimble Connect Visualizer .
