The Authorized Training Center (ATC) program endorses qualified professional training providers by recognizing their expertise in delivering high-quality SketchUp instruction. SketchUp offers these ATCs a range of benefits to support the training they provide.

Becoming an ATC

There are a few steps training provides need to follow to become an ATC:

  1. Apply and register using SketchUp’s ATC Application.
  2. Submit course content for approval using the ATC Course Review Submission Form.
  3. Integrate the Learner Feedback Survey into course materials.
  4. Sign the ATC Term Agreement.
  5. Receive the official SketchUp ATC endorsement.

ATC SketchUp Access

Learners are encouraged to use the most current version of SketchUp and can purchase their own subscription. To help learners access SketchUp, ATCs can purchase discounted training subscriptions for both their trainers and learners for the duration of the course.

For in-person training, ATCs will need lab hardware that supports the latest version of SketchUp. Trainer Qualifications

Trainers that are part of an ATC should have the following qualifications:

  • Relevant industry experience using SketchUp.
  • Proper education and/or certifications.
  • Experience in adult education including diverse teaching methods.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to develop training materials and custom curriculum to meet learner’s needs.
  • Familiarity with online learning tools.

Trainers may be required to complete evaluations and interviews as well as obtain any related credentials at the discretion of ATC program management.

ATC Curriculum Development

All curriculum developed by ATCs must be approved by SketchUp and should align to SketchUp’s Learning Standards, Outcomes and Skill Proficiencies. For more details on what criteria SketchUp’s curriculum review is based on, see the Training Content and Curriculum Validation Guidelines. Once approved, SketchUp will determine the course’s skill level and integrate the course into the User Certification program. Learners who complete the course will then receive learner completion certificates based on the skill level of the course they completed.

Learner Feedback Surveys

All ATCs must maintain satisfactory learner feedback. SketchUp measures this feedback using the Learner Feedback Survey. These anonymous surveys assess the training quality of a course based on factors like material relevance and learner satisfaction. SketchUp will provide the feedback gathered by these surveys at regular intervals. ATCs must make sure all learners complete the feedback survey as part of the course.
