Updating SketchUp

SketchUp recommends updating to the latest released version of SketchUp for Desktop to get the best modeling experience.

Note: SketchUp for Web always runs the latest version. For iPad users, see Updating SketchUp for iPad for more information on keeping Sketchup up to date.

You can find installers for the latest version of SketchUp in Downloading SketchUp. If you already have a version of SketchUp, but aren’t sure if it is the latest version, you can click Help > Check for Update from within the app.

If you already have the latest version, you will see a window confirming that there is no need to update. If a newer version is available, a window will appear with details on the new version.

Clicking Skip This Version or Remind Me Later will close the window. Clicking Download and Install downloads the SketchUp installer for your operating system. See Installing SketchUp for more information on the installation process.

To migrate extensions or files like Classifications, Components, Materials, Styles, and Templates, see Migrating After Updating.
