By default, your viewers will see your modeling updates in real time. Any change you make will appear to anyone, and viewers can even see the tool you are using to make changes if cursors are visible.
Collaborators view your model using a simplified interface in a web browser. The name of the model appears near the top left of the window. In the top right, viewers can see their avatar highlighted along with the avatar of each other collaborator currently viewing the model. Anonymous users will have an avatar assigned to them. The Show/Hide Cursors feature is also in the upper right.
While viewing your model, viewers with the proper access can use a few features to help them get around and interact with the model. The following features are available to viewers:
- Camera Follow - Viewers accessing your model can follow a camera view of another user by clicking on their avatar in the upper right. You can also have everyone in the model follow you by clicking your own avatar.
- Comment (
) – Viewers accessing your model through a private invite with Comment access can leave comments with the Comment tool. When active, use the Comment tool to hover over objects and click a precise spot to leave your comment. For more information, see Commenting on a Model.
- Navigation Tools – Viewers accessing through a private invite with Comment access or through a General Access link with View Model access can use all available navigation tools like Pan, Rotate, and Zoom. They can also use the Tape Measure and the Measurements box to take measurements in your model.
- Panels – Several panels are available to viewers. Viewers can change options in these panels if there is no editor present.
- Comments – Opens the Comments panel. Users can view and navigate to each comment left in the model.
- Entity Info – Viewers can select an entity in the model and use Entity Info to see more information, just like in other versions SketchUp.
- Scenes – The Scenes panel can help your viewers navigate through your different scenes, select a specific camera angle, or choose one of SketchUp’s standard views.
- Tags – Viewers can see your Tags and toggle their visibility.
- Display – Viewers can toggle which display options are active.
- Model Info – The standard Model Info panel with basic details like the unit of measure the model uses.
- Shadows – Viewers can modify shadow settings.
Tip: You can turn off real-time viewing by opening the share settings panel and clicking the toggle next to Collaborators see real-time updates.
