Rendering Models
When you make changes to a SketchUp model in your document you may need to render that model before it reflects those changes. You can control how and when LayOut renders your SketchUp models in the Viewport section of the SketchUp Model panel.

Selecting Auto tells LayOut to render all model entities as you make changes. If you don’t have Auto selected, a Render option appears. Clicking Render will tell LayOut to update your SketchUp model. If all changes have been rendered, the option will say Rendered.
The dropdown offers a few different rendering options:
- Vector – Display and output all lines, faces, and text in vector format. Vector mode provides crisp and scalable linework, but some textures won’t display and complex models can take longer to render.
- Raster – Display and output all lines, faces, and text in a pixel-based format. Raster mode will display your model just like how you see it in SketchUp, but can slow down LayOut’s performance.
- Hybrid – Mixes both vector and raster modes, giving the benefits of both but taking longer to render changes.
