Error: "The file was created in a newer version of SketchUp"

This error appears when you attempt to open a model created in a newer version of SketchUp with an older version.

If you are using an older, unsupported version of SketchUp you may have trouble opening files created with supported versions. Older versions of SketchUp used unique versions of the .skp file format. You may still be able to open the file, but some features from newer versions will not be available. We recommend using a current version of SketchUp. If you don’t have a subscription you can always open the file in SketchUp for Web.

If you are using a supported version of SketchUp and are receiving this message, make sure you have updated to the most recent version of SketchUp.
