What AI features are available in SketchUp?

At this time, SketchUp offers two AI features:

• AI Render – Use generative AI to combine your model with a prompt to create conceptual or realistic imagery, added to your model as a photo-matched scene.
• AI Assistant – An in-app AI powered assistant with two main features – Help and Generate Object:
  • Help answers your questions about SketchUp using sources like this very Help Center.
  • Generate Object creates 3D geometry from a source image you provide or a text prompt.

How does SketchUp AI integrate with the different versions of SketchUp?

SketchUp’s AI tools are built in and ready to use on both SketchUp for iPad and SketchUp for Web. In SketchUp for Desktop, AI features are pre-installed extensions.

Do I need a subscription to use SketchUp’s AI features?

SketchUp Assistant’s Help feature is free for everyone, including those using SketchUp for Web without a paid subscription. All other AI features require a SketchUp subscription to use. Each subscription level provides a set number of SketchUp AI Credits per month. If you need more credits than what your subscription offers, we also offer an add-on AI Subscription. Can I use SketchUp’s AI features with older supported versions of SketchUp for Desktop?

Yes. All extensions hosted on Extension Warehouse are compatible with supported versions of SketchUp. Since SketchUp for Desktop’s AI features are extensions, they will work with any supported version. For more information about what the current supported versions are, see End of Support Policy.

Do SketchUp’s AI features support multi-language prompts?

SketchUp’s AI features only support English at this time. The Help Assistant is trained on the Help Center and may be able to provide answers in other languages if the source material was also localized.

What is the refund policy for the AI Subscription?

SketchUp’s AI Subscription is refundable within 14 days of your initial purchase, similar to other monthly subscription offerings. See Refunds and Cancellations for more details.

Can I get an AI Credit refund if I don’t like the output I received?

AI Credits are non-refundable.

Successful output depends on the strength of the prompt you use. SketchUp cannot guarantee a generated result will always match your expectations. See Best Practices for Custom Prompts for some helpful tips on how to craft a great prompt that’s more likely to generate the output you want and get the most out of your credits.

Do AI Credits expire?

No. Your monthly credits don’t expire, but any unused credits do not roll over to the next month. Your AI Credit balance resets monthly on your renewal date.

Can I purchase a standalone SketchUp AI subscription?

No. The SketchUp AI subscription is available as an add-on to an existing subscription and cannot be purchased separately.

How do I cancel my SketchUp AI subscription?
