Outliner Panel

The Outliner panel helps organize, view, and manage the groups and components in your model.

With Outliner you can:

  • Navigate to specific groups or components in your model.
  • Name and identify all the groups and components in a model.
  • Manage a model’s hierarchy.
  • Control the visibility of groups and components in your model.

The Outliner panel contains several options to help manage and organize your model:

  1. Visibility – Turn the visibility on or off for all entries in the hierarchy. This same option appears next to each entry, allowing you to toggle visibility for individual components or groups.
  2. Collapse/Expand – Collapse or expand the entire hierarchy.
  3. Zoom Selected – After selecting an object in the hierarchy, click or tap this option to zoom to that object.
  4. Delete – Select an entry and click or tap this option to remove the selection from the model. Deleted entries will appear in the Unused section at the bottom of the panel until purged.
  5. 3D Warehouse – Open 3D Warehouse.

Click the Menu () next to each entry for the following options:

  • Insert – Makes a copy of the object that you can place in your model.
  • All Instances – Selects all instances of that object in the hierarchy.
  • Edit – Opens the Edit Component Details modal.
  • Save As – Save the object locally or to Trimble Connect.
  • Reload – Reloads the object from its last saved instance.

For more information on all the things the Outliner can do, see Working with Hierarchies in the Outliner.
