• Site Context and 3D TerrainUsing real-world terrain for site context can help you fully visualize your model. That said, sometimes real-world terrain may not be what fits your unique vision. In either case, take a look at these articles to get started importing or creating your own site context:

  • The Model Info window contains several sections that detail all the behind the scenes information of your model. You can open Model Info in the menu bar by selecting Window > Model Info. You can also open Model Info and go straight to the Geo-location section by clicking the Geo-Location icon () in the lower left of the modeling window.

  • Geolocating a model or adding terrain puts your SketchUp design into real-world surroundings. By using SketchUp’s Add Location feature, importing data or site context, or creating your own terrain, you can enhance your model with specific and accurate location data and site context.
